HAL 9000 is the fictional computer of the spaceship Discovery in the movies 2001: A Space Odyssey from 1968, based on Arthur C. Clarke’s short story The Sentinel. “I am the computer HAL 9000, serial number 3. I was put into operation on January 12, 1997 at the HAL factory in Urbana, Illinois.” With these words, the most famous computer of pop culture declared its origin. At least in the novel “2001 – Odyssey in Space” published by Arthur C. Clarke in 1968. In the film of the same name, director Stanley Kubrick moved the birth of Hal 9000 into the year 1992: He believed that in 1997 computers can do more than HAL, the roach. Last Alliance Member pielandreas presents the community with a HAL 9000 Prop Replica as a new addition to its personal collection.

The HAL 9000 Replica is made of CNC machined aluminum, taken directly from the original 1967 studio blueprints! HAL’s glass eye is replicated in the optical glass directly from the original prop. HAL responds to voice control and answers. This replica can have over 15 different sets that can be activated through multiple user-selectable modes.
